Obedience Trained Adolescents. The foundation of a great working dog.
Most people assume the choice is either a Puppy or a Fully Trained Adult. A Puppy means starting from scratch β housebreaking, chewing, socializing, and months of keeping your fingers crossed that the temperament develops the way you need it to. A Fully Trained Adult is extraordinary. It is our highest investment, and it comes to you with the protection phases trained to the highest level. The Trained Adolescent sits right in the sweet spot between the two.
These are young dogs, roughly five to eighteen months old, that we have already evaluated, introduced to real-life experiences, and finished in off leash obedience around a multitude of distractions. The hard, messy part is behind them. What you get is a dog whose temperament is already proven, who already knows how to be managed inside a home β and, most importantly, a dog that can be an alarm and a threat.
Where they come from. Every Trained Adolescent on this page was bred, raised, and trained at our facility. We breed heralded males from Europe's top working programs to imported females with significant working accomplishments of their own. It is as good as it gets in working dogs β some of the finest genetic material available anywhere in the world, and it's here in North Carolina.
From the womb, these dogs are nurtured and handled with our full attention on the critical stages of development. At twelve weeks we place each one with my Award Winning staff β some of whom have been with me for more than thirty years β for reliable off leash obedience around the distractions of everyday life. Then we evaluate. And evaluate again. Only the dogs that keep proving themselves stay in the program.
Two age groups. Two price points.
The youngest Trained Adolescents, at five to six months, are finished in off leash obedience and come from the finest genetic material we have. Priced at $10,000 to $15,000.
The older Trained Adolescents are the cream of the crop. They carry significantly more training and are started in the protection phases β the point where I can predict the talent without any doubts. As I tell everyone: the older they are, the more I'm an expert.
Priced at $20,000 to $25,000.
This is a great age group for quality and value, and it's a very popular choice among our clientele for exactly that reason. The quality is as good as it gets, but availability is limited. If a dog in this age group interests you, call our office and reserve your selection. They don't last long around here.

Think of an adolescent as a young teenager with a strong and responsive immune system. They are growing, strong and healthy. They are past the point of vaccination. We screen breeding partners for congenital health defects. Breeding partners are radiographed for hips and elbows.
