The Importance of a Personal Protection Dog

October is National Crime Prevention Month, and all throughout the month, the NCPC and its Celebrate Safe Communities co-sponsor, the Bureau of Justice Assistance at the U.S. Department of Justice, will be raising awareness about national crime trends and offering tips that emphasize effective crime prevention.

According to the Bureau of Justice Assistance Criminal Victimization report, Americans ages 12 and older experience over 17 million cases of household burglary, property theft, and motor vehicle theft annually. The NCPC says, “the most effective method of preventing theft is eliminating the opportunity.”
